Austin SNUG enjoyed a nice turnout for the annual "SAN 101" lunch presentation on March 31 at Chez Zee. This is always a popular presentation and this year we managed to land a date that avoided both Spring break week and SXSW Interactive. David Morales from Compellent presented and did an excellent job of keeping the presentation material "vendor neutral" as SNUG requires...
Kudos to Dell for sponsoring the lunch -- that's a notable thing since SNUG never gives out its member or event attendee info so Dell wasn't getting any potential sales contacts out of the deal. Dell did provide a "drop in your business card" box for a chance to win a shiny new Streak (Android 5-inch slate phone with Froyo 2.2, sans any masked sales team members). One lucky SNUG attendee got his card drawn (by me) and presumably returned to his workplace to annoy coworkers by brandishing both superior SAN knowledge and a free Streak. Apologies to my own coworkers who were in attendance for this one -- next time I'll try to do a better job of drawing one of your cards out of the hat...
